The Wakeman, Ohio and the Surrounding Area

Welcome to Wakeman to The Wakeman, Ohio a small, rural community located in Huron County, just 12 miles south of Lake Erie, and about 45 miles west of Cleveland, Ohio. Huron County is part of the Firelands area of the Connecticut Western Reserve, and is rich with history.

The last several years have seen a growth spurt in the community, because of its closeness to Cleveland, and Elyria in Lorain County. The highway system has grown so that it doesn't take long to get to the bigger cities. The residents have the best of both worlds -- working in the city, and living in a pleasant, rural community. As you'll see on the business page, just about everything you need is located in the village and surrounding area.

Come in and stay for a while. Learn about Wakeman, then and now. Browse the Reflections of Wakeman pages, and learn all about the Firelands area and how it was developed 200 years ago.
